The Reading Clinic of Central Indiana

WELCOME
The Reading Clinic of Central Indiana is committed to providing information, training, and support for schools, educators, organizations, and families around the Science of Reading and dyslexia awareness and advocacy. Our formal training and work in the field provide us with the knowledge and expertise to support reading and written expression instruction.
Research Shows
When educators, parents, and policy-makers have a solid understanding of the Science of Reading, they are better prepared to make informed decisions to support students.
-
Evidence supports the effectiveness of early screening, identification and intervention as a critical strategy for improving learning outcomes.
-
The most critical window for maximizing the effectiveness of appropriate interventions is kindergarten and first grade.
-
Implementing a more proactive and preventative approach in primary grades benefits all students and harms none.

We Can Help
Literacy instruction is a highly researched field across network of interdisciplinary scientists.
-
Collaboration with experts in the field of cognitive psychology, communication sciences, linguistics, neuroscience, implementation science, and development psychology, have provided us with research on the dynamic processes students engage in when learning to read and write.
-
This understanding not only enhances our awareness of why learning is such a complex task for struggling students, but also how to better support these students.
-
These evidence-based instructional practices are essential for success for some, but beneficial for all.
